FG To Shut Third Mainland Bridge For Six Months
The Federal Government is set to close the Third Mainland Bridge for a half year beginning from Friday, July 24.
This was affirmed by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olukayode Popoola.
As indicated by him, discussions are progressing for another period of maintenance to start on the 11.8km bridge.
Popoola clarified that the work will initiate on the outward territory area of the bridge, and the service is working with significant organizations to consummate traffic during the period.
The bridge has experienced a progression of fix works and was last closed in August 2018 for a three-day analytical support check.
There have additionally been reports of some exhausted bridge joints on the structure, raising worries over the condition of the scaffold.
This advancement will constrain drivers in Lagos who use the bridge to start making plans of action for alternate ways.
